601 Pennsylvania Edition Cigars

The 601 Pennsylvania Edition takes Espinosa's flagship Nicaraguan line somewhere unexpected: the Lancaster County tobacco fields of the northeastern United States. Pennsylvania Broadleaf is a rare choice for a premium wrapper — thick, dark, and notoriously difficult to work with — and using it here gives the familiar 601 blend a completely different character.

Why Pennsylvania Broadleaf

Pennsylvania Broadleaf is grown in the same region that has supplied American cigar makers since the 1800s. The leaf is heavy, oily, and packed with flavor, delivering a distinctive sweet-and-savory profile that Central American wrappers simply don't produce. It's slow to ferment and expensive to work with, which is why so few brands use it.

Blend & Character

  • Wrapper: Pennsylvania Broadleaf
  • Filler & binder: Nicaraguan long-filler
  • Origin: Handmade in Esteli, Nicaragua
  • Body: Full
  • Flavor notes: Dark cocoa, molasses, black coffee, earth, and a sharp peppery spice

What to Expect

This is a dense, oily cigar with real weight behind it. Expect an assertive opening, a rich cocoa-and-coffee middle, and a finish that keeps the pepper present without turning bitter. It stands up well to bourbon and dark rum and is best smoked after a meal rather than before one.

Who It's For
