My Father Le Bijou 1922 Cigars
Le Bijou 1922 is Jose "Don Pepin" Garcia's tribute to his father, born in 1922 — and it is widely considered the finest cigar the My Father factory produces. In 2015 Cigar Aficionado named the Le Bijou 1922 Box Pressed Torpedo its Cigar of the Year, and demand has never really cooled since.
The Blend
Le Bijou is a Nicaraguan puro built at Tabacalera Garcia in Esteli from tobacco grown on the family's own farms. The wrapper is a dark, oily Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro grown in Pueblo Nuevo, laid over Nicaraguan binder and filler. Everything about the presentation — the heavy box press, the triple cap, the near-black sheen on the leaf — signals what's coming.
Blend & Character
- Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro
- Binder: Nicaraguan
- Filler: Nicaraguan
- Origin: Handmade at My Father Cigars, Esteli, Nicaragua
- Body: Full
- Flavor notes: Dark chocolate, espresso, black pepper, cinnamon, leather, and a sweet cedar finish
What to Expect
This is a full-bodied cigar that never turns harsh — the hallmark of Garcia blending. It opens with pepper and espresso, settles into cocoa and baking spice through the second third, and finishes rich and sweet rather than bitter. Give it an hour and a half and don't smoke it on an empty stomach.
